Social media is – as the name suggests – SOCIAL! Users of these platforms don’t mind being sold to when it’s done in the right way but overall the message needs to be conversational, helpful, informative, engaging and SOCIAL. If you are hammering your audience with a “hard sell” message in every post or engagement this is a huge turn-off in an environment that’s meant to be about escapism. In the digital world, scams are rife so earning the trust of your potential customer is the first step in creating a relationship with them and if you jump in and just try to push them to buy before they even get to know you, it’s a huge red flag.
